Fourth of July

We had such a fun Fourth of July! We decided to just take it easy and do fun things with the kids.
We started the day off going to the parade. The kids liked it. I think one of their favorite parts was having the jets fly over. I found that rather amusing. I think the adults who have seen it numerous times are still just as excited as the kids. They stood in the middle of the road watching till they couldn't see them anymore. While we were at the parade we got a text inviting us to Clint's aunt and uncle's house to swim in their pool. We were planning on having a water balloon fight but decided to take them swimming instead. The kids had so much fun I am glad we did that since we don't have that opportunity all the time. When we first go there, we put Wyatt and Darcy on the steps since the rest of the pool is too deep for them. I didn't think that Wyatt would even like it but he loved it and was content to just sit there and splash.

I wasn't sure if Kale would go down the slide either. But here he is. I don't think it was as fun as he thought it would be though because he didn't go down again by himself.

Dave turned the fountains on to help heat the pool and Wyatt thought that was pretty neat.

Clint took Kale and Darcy down the slide. I missed getting Darcy's picture. Oops. She didn't really like it though. Kale liked it better when Clint went with him. Clint held them up so their heads wouldn't go under the water when they landed.

I love Kale's face in this one. You can tell he had already gone down and was ready for the water.

Wyatt kept stepping over the fountain and then he couldn't figure out what had happened to the water even though it was hitting him in the bum.

He had so much fun. I was so glad. A month ago he would scream if we put him in our big tub. So I am glad he is over that now! He even fell in, Clint was standing right next to him when he did and it startled him but he is still happy to play in the water.

She was making me so nervous. I thought she was going to fall in, but she didn't. I really should have had life jackets on them but we had enough people around everywhere and everyone was always concious of where they were.
After we got done swimming, we headed home to clean the house up a little and give the kids a nap before our next adventure. The sky had clouded up and the wind was blowing too so we were hoping if we gave it a little time it would blow over and be nice again. And it did faster than I thought it would.
Clint had gone down to the creek that runs through his dad's farm the day before and there were tons of crawdads so he thought it would be fun to take the kids down and catch some for dinner. We invited Clint's family that was in town to go with us.
Here's the boys right at first. Clint was trying to teach Kale how to get them. But I think he was too excited himself because it didn't last long, he was out catching as many as he could.

You can't see it but Darcy has one in her net. I saw one right off the bank so I helped her catch it. Actually I more forced her to. She screamed the whole time she was in the water. I'm actually surprised she is smiling for the picture.

The poor kids didn't get a long enough nap. We only let them sleep for about a half hour. The weather was a little unpredictable so we had to do things when it was nice. Plus everyone else was waiting on us. I don't think Wyatt got any more excited than that the whole time we were down there.

Here's a picture of everyone looking for crawdads. Of course mine are the two boys with the butts in the air for the picture. hehe. I'm not the best photographer but I wanted to make sure and get a picture of everyone.
After we were done, we headed back to our house for dinner. We invited everyone over to eat the crawdads. Clint counted 342 of them when he was cleaning them. Unfortunatly for them they were little bitty things but it was still a lot of fun. We just hung out here until it was time to go to the fireworks. The older two kids had fun there. Wyatt was so tired. He ended up laying down and was out within two minutes of the fireworks starting. I couldn't believe he could sleep through it. We were closer to them than usual but it didn't seem to bother him one bit.

Your blog is so darling! I absolutely love reading all about your family. Your 4th of July looks like it was a blast. I am amazed at how many crawdad's you caught! Did you eat them? Good luck with your pregnancy! I am excited for you!
