Six? There is NO WAY!

Can you believe my little boy is SIX? Yeah, me neither.
Kale saw this alligator cake in a cookbook that my mom gave me for Christmas. So I decided to do an alligator themed day. Too bad it didn't quite turn out that way. I got up early to get the cupcakes made. Kale wanted vanilla cupcakes so I thought it would be fun to put green food coloring in. He woke up just before I got them out of the oven. You should have seen his face. He thought they were so cool. I was going to make him green pancakes but I didn't feel up to it. So I decided to color the milk for his cereal green. You should have seen his face again. He was disgusted, "What is that?!?" "Alligator milk.""Where did you get it?" "I milked an alligator." He wouldn't even touch his bowl until I told him it was regular milk and I had just colored it green. It did give me a good laugh though.
I decided to wait to actually decorate the cake until he went to school and then I hoped that I could get it done before he got home. I was a little worried I wouldn't get it done because I conveniently planned my visiting teaching for that afternoon too.I'm brilliant I know. But I did manage. Once again you should have seen his face. At that moment I was the COOLEST mom EVER. Ok he didn't say that but his face made me feel like it!
He wanted to choose where the candles went,
and light them.
In this picture you can see some of our swampy green crepe paper. Danielle and her boyfriend picked up some green paper and balloons for me because I couldn't find them the night before. They helped me decorate too. I only wanted green but they got carried away with the balloons and we had all different colors and tons of them. (A lot of them are still floating around the house)
Here he is with a lot of his loot. The other kids were too excited and wouldn't move so I didn't get any good pictures of him opening presents.
He got some play golf clubs and so they were all golfing.
He has outgrown his other chair so we bought him a new one and got him his own fishing pole. He is so excited to go fishing with his daddy. Here he is practicing.
Thanks everyone for coming to celebrate with us. And thanks to the Aunts who mailed him presents there is nothing quite like getting mail when you are young!!
Darcy insisted on getting her picture taken too. She is so excited for her birthday. She wants new clothes, a girl fishing pole, a pink chair, a couch, shoes or more specifically pink boots (yes she already has two pair of pink boots but that does not matter. She is my boot girl), a bunk bed, a small office for her stuffed animals, princess dress, a book for her ONLY that has Anastasia and Sleeping Beauty and the other girl... and we could go on and on. In fact I couldn't remember all the things she had told me so I just asked her and she just keeps going. And they all have to be "new, new, new." I hope she doesn't get too disappointed when she doesn't get all of these things! Oh and she wants a girl alligator cake. Oh how I love that girl.
